BUT, why is the title is named 10 parallel lines??? The story went like this.
I had a positive pregnancy test on 15th March, Saturday morning. I was home alone while tom was working. So, tom wasn't aware of it. The tester looked about this:
The 2nd line is very blur and light. Now come the confusing part. Is that because post-phd syndrome? everything has to be fact proven!
*got it from google*
Normally, the instruction from the pregnancy tester will look like the diagram above. 2 parallel lines, SAME tone of colour exist, right, right right???? SAME TONE!!
So, I wasn't very sure if it was a positive, but the 2nd line exist!! At that moment, I could feel my heart bumping so quickily and loudly. Excited but but but....??? Then, I called up my mum. My mum stopped me from telling tom, worried that it was just a false alarm and wanted me to go to the nearest clinic to CONFIRM! I grabbed my car key and rush to a clinic with the tester.
The doctor seemed hard to draw a conclusion too as me when he looked at the tester. So he suggested me to have a ultra-scan, which he thought that would be the most accurate way, if he could detech a sac then it is confirmed pregnant! We proceeded to have it. Sadly to say, he couldn't detect any! However, he said my lining of uterus was pretty thick, which mean either i was going to have my period soon or pregnant! After all this and that, i had my 2nd pregnancy test at his clinic. The result was exactly the same as the 1st tester. The 2nd line exist but BLUR! GRrrrrr.... apa nie??? How come to hard to have a firm answer??? was the pregnant hormon to little to reveal the result??? I guess the doctor also could not stand me anymore. Then, he adviced me to just treat myself as pregnant lady, rest more and come back to him after 2 weeks!! I brought back the 2nd tester as i wanted to show it to tom.
This couldn't stop my eagerness of knowing the result right at that point of time. I called up a friend, Tiing, who was already pregnant for few months. She said the line suppose to be very significant. Gosh.... So I hang up the call disappointedly. I felt so sad and yet wondering if I should tell tom about it. but still, i could google to check how the +ve pregnancy result look like :P
Until late noon, tom back home. He was so tired and planned to take a nap. When he closed the curtain and lay down, I couldn't keep the secret anymore. I took out the tester and showed him sadly with my pouring tears. He took the tester over and switch on the light quickily. Without listening to me, he was already jumping for joy in the room. Big smile hanging over both side of his ears. I calmed him down and told him my concern. Then he said,
"Yahoh, how come so light and blur hoh? how come???" T___________T
I kept on crying and he kept studying/staring the tester T___________T
Since we were so Kiasu, we decided to take more pregnancy tests: 1 at evening and 1 at night before sleep (on the saturday); 1 more on next day morning! Tom even set his phone alarm to woke me up early to me pee :S Both waited excitedly in the toilet for the result with sleepy eyes and smelly breathe. Funny stupid couples!!
So, there we had our 10 parallel lines.
We kept all of them to compare the tone of colour. After the 4th (if not mistaken) we were still not sure about it as the 2nd red line was still so much lighter than the 1st line. UNTIL..... my friend, Tiing asked me to send her the photo of the latest tester result. After viewing the photo, Tiing and her hubby called up tom immediately to sing him "GONG XI GONG XI nie!!" (gong xi means congrats). Then, we both felt relief
"ahhhhhhhhhhh... we are INDEED going to be parents SOON!"
1st experience of +ve pregancy test! Please don't laugh at us!!
The lesson learnt ---> the parallel lines are not necessary have to be same TONE of colour!!
